Brass Kaleidoscope is a toy that runs entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server of its own. Nothing you see or make in it is uploaded anywhere.

Camera

If you switch on the back-camera light meter or the teleidoscope, the app asks your browser for camera access. The picture is used only on your device, to measure brightness or to draw the reflected image on screen. No frames are stored or transmitted. The camera stops when you switch the feature off or leave the page.

Motion sensors

Phone tilt and shake use your device's orientation and motion sensors so the glass can respond to how you hold the phone. These readings stay on the device.

Snapshots

A snapshot is rendered on your device and handed to your phone's own share sheet or download folder. The app never receives a copy.

Usage counts

The site counts page visits and which features are used (for example how often the teleidoscope is opened) with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly counter. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data, and records no identifiers that could single you out. You can block it with any content blocker without affecting the app.

Your colour scheme

A custom glass scheme is remembered in your browser's local storage on your device only.
